Movin' on and OUT!

Yes. The day has come.

We are actively looking at apartments...and...
WE {probably, most likely} ARE MOVING OUT!
By March 1st, is the goal, and we are so very excited!

I'm excited for the challenge of having my own place, my own kitchen, own bathroom, etc. I'm excited to stress more fully about grocery shopping and meal planning!

We're filling out an application today for some apartments, update just as soon as we hear back. (:

So...I do Makeup. And Birth Stuff.

Did you that I'm a makeup artist?

It's true.

I do weddings, special occassions, formals, photo shoots...you name it. In fact, I have a few weddings scheduled as I type, and a few more shoots this week. Guess you could say I'm getting pretty famous (ha.). :)

But with that being said, there is another part of my life that I hold very near and dear...and it centers around a very spritual, empowering, and a bit-overlooked life experience called birth. I've said before that I'm a student midwife, and I LOVE it. Love. I run/own Grassroots Birth Services and do doula work, childbirth classes, and even the infamous placenta encapsulation. One day, some day, when I'm all done with my education, I plan on opening up a birth center and doing home births as well, and calling it Grassroots. It'll be awwwwwesome. I came up with a logo a few days ago, and I'll have to link it up to my site so you all can see it and marvel at it's pure and simple beauty. ;)

As I type, baby Christian is in a baby wrap against me, and he's struggling...he doesn't like sitting still! With that being said, it looks like this blog post is over; duty calls...au revoir!

Babbling and Talkin' like a pro!

James Ezra, my sweet and silly 17.5 month old, is talking like a pro!

He says "hi," his own version of "hello" and "more," "mama, dada, daddy, doggie, drink, food" and his sign language is excellent. Hs favorite sign is definitely movie ( if he signs it, he knows that he gets the luxury of sitting with a grandparent, aunt or uncle and watching one of his favorite music videos! Most likely something Tyler Ward or Roar, by Katy Perry) and he loves signing and saying more at the same time.

And! Just a few days ago, he tole me through sign that he needed a diaper change! Woot!

On another happy page turn, hubby Adam got a job!! He'll be working for Brinks Security. Pay is great, benefits are awesome, and we are now looking to move somewhere a little closer to Salt Lake.

Things are looking up in the Neal Household!

Holiday Hangover

Over at my house, we're all suffering from a major Holiday Hangover.

You plan for months for the winter Holidays. You shop, wrap presents, give them, receive them. You dress up, drive to a family party, eat, dine, the whole shibang. You go see the lights, you carol, you bake gingerbread men. You even deal with listening to different variations of the same Christmas songs over and over again. Once Turkey day passes, then you have Christmas, then you have New Years. It just so happens that New Years was last night...so now...the Holiday Hangover hits.

And just how does this Hangover hit?

Like a ton of bricks.

To the chest.

In order to keep on top of the slightly empty feeling caused by the holiday's passing, my family is doing some major planning, resolving, goal-making, and affirming. We have this fantastic opportunity to write a brand new 365 page book...and why not make it a good one?

I've made a 50-item-long "New Year's Resolution" that I INTEND on keeping all year long, making it possible by diving it up into monthly goals, challenges, and giving myself weekly check-ins to see how I'm doing on the challenge I've set for myself. Starting tonight, Daily Yoga, 60-day Book of Mormon Challenge, and a whole bunch of personal resolutions.

I even made a planner to keep on top of everything!

Yep, Holiday Hangover is here. But so it 2014. And I'm determined to make it the best year yet for not only me, but my super duper little family.

2014. Bring it on. (:

My Chunka Offa Baba

Baby Christian weighs 17 lbs. and is 23 inches long.
Yes. MY BABY, who is just SEVEN WEEKS OLD, weighs 17 lbs.
I was expecting MAYBE 13, 14...but I was off. I guess it makes sense though...he's got the most adorable plethora of rolls after rolls!! (:

We went to my six week follow up appointment yesterday, and one of the assistant midwives and I were talking about my schooling and how I feel like I should switch to the Midwives College of Utah. She told me about the new option of Financial Aid through the school...and I really feel like I should make that my next move in my pursuing a career in midwifery. The desire to be a midwife is so strong, and in some ways, it feels like a calling.

So, on the schedule for today...switch out all my baby's Newborn to 3 month old clothes for the 6 month clothes (sooo sad! My baby isn't so little anymore!), cuddle the crap out of my boys before they get EVEN BIGGER, and apply for some financial aid. (:

What's all this Construction Business??

Alrighty, ladies and gents. If you've tried to check out all the above pages, most of them say "Under Construction," and let me explain why.

It's December. It's a crazy busy month. Last week, I said goodbye to my dear, sweet friend for 18 months as she goes to live in Russia, I braved a major snow storm and went to a photo shoot that's to be featured in a magazine, went to ANOTHER photo shoot for a boudoir session in which I did hair and makeup...and the entire week, I've been trying to keep up with my babies who have little colds and Christmas (and all the crafts that come along with it), which is approaching really, really, REALLY fast.

In about a month, all the pages will be complete. I just need a little time to get all this Holiday-Hobnosh outta the way.

I'm going to have recipes, crafts, married-stuff, and kiddo-stuff all up there. I'm also going to have links to my Freelance hair and makeup business and my birth services. It'll be great. Just...stay tuned. I promise it'll be worth it. (:

Where I Stand

Welp...the last time I posted was back in March...and A LOT has happened. This following part is from a post I had started back in June...and it gives a little bit of an update...

"My announcement that I had been leading up to came out about 8 weeks ago. James Ezra, now 10 months old, will be a big brother to another little Neal come November. I'll admit that the timing was not exactly what my husband and I had hoped for, but now, more than ever, I KNOW that things are supposed to be the way they are. Initially, finding out, I was filled with so many emotions that I didn't understand, that I didn't feel should be involved in finding out one is expecting. I was worried, anxious, and unsure of Heavenly Father's plan and if I could REALLY handle this. But now, as I'm a little over half way done with this pregnancy, I am excited and feel so much love for this baby. As I'm typing this, the sweet little baby is turning over and over and occasionally, there's a little part of my tummy that will move around as the baby moves within it. I feel blessed. I feel like I'm doing what I am meant to do by being a mother to not only one gorgeous little person, but two. I can't wait to meet him/her. (:

Two days ago, James Ezra was blessed! His grandpa, my dad, performed the blessing and although I don't want to go into details over the internet, I'll just say that he received a very special blessing and I am so grateful to be a member of this church." (:

The biggest and most important thing since then? Baby Christian was born. (: He's gorgeous, sweet, tender, wise...perfect. He decided to come 11 days early and has shown me from that (and his quick, natural labor/birth) that he does things on his own time. He's such a blessing to us and has made my small family of three a fun family size of four. James loves him...which is a huge bonus! He looooves giving him kisses and loves...so precious!! Adam's going to be getting into the Air Force Reserves! We have a few things to accomplish as a family first, but he's on his way to his dream of Para-rescue. I've gotten more involved in the Natural Birth world with my doula-ing and Placenta encapsulate-ing. I've started up Heavensent Birth Services and will dedicate more of my time to that once my little bambino is a little bit older. I've been working as a Freelance Hair and Makeup artist for photo shoots and such, and it's been a blast. I've happily named that part of my life Fleur de Beaute, and things are working out really well for it. Photo shoot tomorrow, actually (and one on Friday!) I've been challenging myself this year to do a Home Made christmas, and so far so good! I made a necklace today along with hand painted mugs, and a diaper cake, all while tending to my little men! (: I'll post pictures a little later, savvy? All in all, we're happy. Crossing my fingers that I'll be able to post more frequently!
