So...I do Makeup. And Birth Stuff.

Did you that I'm a makeup artist?

It's true.

I do weddings, special occassions, formals, photo shoots...you name it. In fact, I have a few weddings scheduled as I type, and a few more shoots this week. Guess you could say I'm getting pretty famous (ha.). :)

But with that being said, there is another part of my life that I hold very near and dear...and it centers around a very spritual, empowering, and a bit-overlooked life experience called birth. I've said before that I'm a student midwife, and I LOVE it. Love. I run/own Grassroots Birth Services and do doula work, childbirth classes, and even the infamous placenta encapsulation. One day, some day, when I'm all done with my education, I plan on opening up a birth center and doing home births as well, and calling it Grassroots. It'll be awwwwwesome. I came up with a logo a few days ago, and I'll have to link it up to my site so you all can see it and marvel at it's pure and simple beauty. ;)

As I type, baby Christian is in a baby wrap against me, and he's struggling...he doesn't like sitting still! With that being said, it looks like this blog post is over; duty calls...au revoir!

Babbling and Talkin' like a pro!

James Ezra, my sweet and silly 17.5 month old, is talking like a pro!

He says "hi," his own version of "hello" and "more," "mama, dada, daddy, doggie, drink, food" and his sign language is excellent. Hs favorite sign is definitely movie ( if he signs it, he knows that he gets the luxury of sitting with a grandparent, aunt or uncle and watching one of his favorite music videos! Most likely something Tyler Ward or Roar, by Katy Perry) and he loves signing and saying more at the same time.

And! Just a few days ago, he tole me through sign that he needed a diaper change! Woot!

On another happy page turn, hubby Adam got a job!! He'll be working for Brinks Security. Pay is great, benefits are awesome, and we are now looking to move somewhere a little closer to Salt Lake.

Things are looking up in the Neal Household!

Holiday Hangover

Over at my house, we're all suffering from a major Holiday Hangover.

You plan for months for the winter Holidays. You shop, wrap presents, give them, receive them. You dress up, drive to a family party, eat, dine, the whole shibang. You go see the lights, you carol, you bake gingerbread men. You even deal with listening to different variations of the same Christmas songs over and over again. Once Turkey day passes, then you have Christmas, then you have New Years. It just so happens that New Years was last night...so now...the Holiday Hangover hits.

And just how does this Hangover hit?

Like a ton of bricks.

To the chest.

In order to keep on top of the slightly empty feeling caused by the holiday's passing, my family is doing some major planning, resolving, goal-making, and affirming. We have this fantastic opportunity to write a brand new 365 page book...and why not make it a good one?

I've made a 50-item-long "New Year's Resolution" that I INTEND on keeping all year long, making it possible by diving it up into monthly goals, challenges, and giving myself weekly check-ins to see how I'm doing on the challenge I've set for myself. Starting tonight, Daily Yoga, 60-day Book of Mormon Challenge, and a whole bunch of personal resolutions.

I even made a planner to keep on top of everything!

Yep, Holiday Hangover is here. But so it 2014. And I'm determined to make it the best year yet for not only me, but my super duper little family.

2014. Bring it on. (:
